His professors call him a student advocate, a community asset, a natural-born leader. His peers call him a ladies’ man, a master chef, a confidant. For someone with so many different identities, it’s surprising how easy it is to get to know CAS senior Timothy Shi. His charismatic smile, jocular personality and unassuming air seem [...]
College students across the country are stripping down to their underwear to compete in the annual Undie Run, a charitable event that sends donated clothes to those in need. KING’s Joe Fryer reports.
Our very own, Kyle Kuhlmann, is interviewed by Youth Radio and talks about founding the philanthropic Undie Run. Youth Radio was founded in 2006 by Luke Jones, who co-hosts the show alongside Maleeha Kamal. It currently airs in the Houston area, and is produced by We Are New Voices, a non-profit organization that was created to cultivate students’ writing skills and equip them with the tools they need to communicate.
UPDATE: Weiner admits HE DID send the pictures, but refuses to resign.
Give New York’s representative, Anthony Weiner, a break. He just wanted to be in Seattle’s Undie Run! If you didn’t know, Mr. Weiner’s twitter account was apparently hacked and the hacker sent a female in Seattle a picture of a man in just his undies. Good one, hacker, if that is your real name.
What better way to cap off The Undie Run Challenge than right after Memorial Day at the University of Washington at Seattle. We salute you, UWash. You’re last, but certainly not least. If you’re in the Seattle area, show your support for our country and attend wearing the undies below.
The Undie Run has just been named the #1 University Sanctioned Event by Co-Ed Magazine!
We all have it in us to do some truly insane stuff. And everyone will agree that college is the ideal opportunity for such insanity. However, most students aren’t exactly grown-up to the point where they can just leap into their idea without being shoved out of the airplane. Fortunately, there’s always that one ballsy kid that convinces their university to say ‘yes’ to their outlandish scheme. And when the university nudges that idea into motion, the participants fall in like dominoes. Consequentially, a ton of people makes for an awesome event. Here are the Top 10 University Sanctioned Events in college history.
1. The Undie Run – A major yearly event at Arizona State, San Diego State, and several other crazy fun universities. The annual “Undie Run” is just what its name implies: a bunch of people (thousands actually) going for a mass jog in their undergarments. Boxers, bras, tighty whities, thongs, it all goes. Some universities have put up a fight regarding the safety of the event; however, the only thing that I can see being a ’safety’ issue is the concentrated mass quantity of hotness absolutely frying one’s brain.
If you weren’t at this Undie Run, you missed out on running down one of the most popular streets in Austin, “the drag”. At the 4th Annual Austin Undie Run, there were 4,285 articles of clothing donated to LifeWorks, Top Drawer and the Trinity Center. Austin keeps it local, just how we like it.
